June proved to be another busy and successful month for Blackpool FC Community Trust, with achievements across education, health, community engagement, sport and volunteering.
The month began with Volunteers’ Week, where the Trust proudly celebrated the dedication and commitment of its volunteers. Recognition was also given to Blackpool FC Sports College students, who volunteer across a range of Trust programmes, gaining valuable experience while making a positive impact in the local community.
Blackpool FC Ladies enjoyed an excellent month on the pitch. After reaching the quarter-finals of the Rachel Duncan Tournament at Poolfoot Farm, the team bounced back by winning the Blackpool Tournament. The squad conceded just one goal in open play before securing victory in a dramatic penalty shootout in the final.
Young people attending the Trust’s Premier League Kicks sessions took part in an engaging drug-awareness workshop, helping them better understand the risks of substance misuse and empowering them to make informed choices.

Blackpool FC Sports College also celebrated the increasing number of students progressing into paid casual employment with the Trust, demonstrating the successful pathway from education into employment and providing valuable workplace experience alongside their studies.
The academic year concluded with the annual Blackpool FC Sports College Awards, recognising the outstanding achievements, commitment and development of students throughout the year. Blackpool FC first-team players Olly Casey and Josh Bowler attended the event to present awards and celebrate alongside students and staff.
The Trust also celebrated the success of its university students, with every graduating student successfully completing their degree programme and achieving excellent results. Their dedication and hard work throughout their studies is a testament to their commitment, and everyone at the Trust wishes them every success in their future careers.
Looking ahead to the summer, the Trust officially launched its Summer Camps, with dates, venues and bookings now available for a summer full of sport, fun and activities for young people across the Fylde Coast.

The popular Esports Community League also entered an exciting new chapter, relocating its weekly Tuesday evening sessions to Aspire Sports Hub. Sessions run from 5pm to 7pm, with EA Sports FC taking centre stage.
Members of the Community Engagement team completed CanRehab cancer rehabilitation training, strengthening the Trust’s ability to support people living with and beyond cancer through specialist physical activity programmes.
The Trust was also proud to support Armed Forces Week and Armed Forces Day, attending local events and continuing to deliver regular sessions for members of the Armed Forces community.
As June comes to a close, Blackpool FC Community Trust looks forward to building on this momentum throughout the summer, continuing to make a positive difference across Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre through its sport, education, health and community programmes.
