Following an external governance review, Blackpool FC Community Trust are looking to recruit a number of new Trustees to join their Board. The Trustees play a pivotal role in setting the strategic direction of the organisation, as well as supporting the management team to ensure they are delivering the very best for the community.
As well as delivering a wide range of outreach services in schools and community settings, the Trust delivers a range of further education and higher education programmes from its bespoke facilities within the Bloomfield Road Stadium. The Trust also operates Blackpool FC School which provides alternative education provision to a select number of students. The school recently received a ‘Good’ Ofsted rating.
This is an exciting time to join one of the leading charities in the North West of England, that has a vision of ‘changing lives of local residents and building a more healthy, active and work ready community’.
Blackpool FC Community Trust has recently appointed a new Chief Executive Officer and will shortly be embarking on the consultation process that will start to inform its 2027-2032 five year strategy. There are many factors that will affect the priorities moving forwards with uncertainty remaining over the proposed local government restructure and changes to the framework for school sports provision.
We look forward to hearing from anybody who can help us to shape the future of Blackpool FC Community Trust and help us to continue to change lives and provide opportunities for people in our community.
We recognise the value of diversity in all its forms at all levels of the organisation, including at Board level. We celebrate its role in the creation of an inclusive workplace culture and thrive on the range of experience and insight diversity brings to our organisation. We therefore welcome applications from everyone and would be delighted to have a conversation with you regardless of your skill set and background. We are however looking specifically for expertise in the following areas:
Education – Knowledge of secondary school education and special educational needs.
Income Generation – Skills in areas which can help to raise the profile of Blackpool FC Community Trust and help to attract corporate partners and funds, such as fundraising, campaigning, advocacy, traded income, social investment, marketing and/or business development.
