BFC School is a dedicated provision designed specifically for students in Year 10 and Year 11 who benefit from smaller class sizes and a personalised approach to learning. The school aims to support young people in achieving their individual goals by offering tailored curricula that respond to their unique needs, strengths, and aspirations.
As a full-time educational provision, BFC School delivers a broad and balanced programme of study. Students have the opportunity to work towards recognised qualifications, including GCSEs and Functional Skills in Maths and English, alongside Level 1 Sport and Fitness. In addition, a variety of other learning opportunities are provided to further develop essential academic skills while promoting personal growth.
Central to the ethos of BFC School is the belief that all students can succeed when given the right support and environment. The school offers a secure, positive, and stimulating setting where learners of all abilities can thrive. Through project-based learning, students are encouraged to explore real-world topics, helping them to better understand their community and the wider world, while developing a sense of responsibility and citizenship.
BFC School places strong emphasis on personal development and wellbeing. Students are given access to a range of experiences and opportunities that build confidence, resilience, and independence. The curriculum is designed not only to support academic success but also to prepare students for life beyond school.
Ultimately, BFC School equips its students with the knowledge, qualifications, and practical skills needed for adult life and employment in an ever-changing world, ensuring they are well-prepared for their next steps.

Welcome to our school. I am privileged to be the Head at BFC School and have been in post since July 2021. This is a school with exceptional character and warmth, which you can sense as soon as you visit.
Our students are at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to providing a nurturing environment that instils confidence and belief in every young person, while continuing to grow as a truly inclusive and restorative school that strives to meet the needs of every individual.
We are a dedicated team of staff who have built a school centred on excellent relationships and a shared commitment to bringing our very best each day. We want everyone to enjoy learning here, both staff and students, and continually evolve our offer to meet the changing educational landscape in Blackpool.
We believe that student success comes through strong partnerships with parents and carers, ensuring the values developed in school are reflected at home and in the wider community. Our listening culture enriches the educational experience for all, creating an environment built on respect and supporting the aspirations of every student.
Our website gives a flavour of our school, but the best way to experience what BFC School is all about is to visit us. You will be warmly welcomed.

I feel incredibly privileged to hold the role of Pastoral Manager and Deputy at Blackpool FC School, where I am able to focus on what I am most passionate about ensuring every young person feels safe, understood, and valued throughout their education. My practice is rooted in a trauma-attuned, child-centred approach, recognising that every student brings their own unique experiences, needs, and challenges.
Building positive, trusting relationships with students, parents, and carers is at the heart of my role. I believe that strong partnerships with families are essential to a child’s wellbeing and success, ensuring they feel listened to, supported, and actively involved in their child’s educational journey.
It has been incredibly rewarding to see students grow in confidence and resilience, particularly those who have previously struggled in education. Witnessing the impact of the compassionate, consistent support provided by our staff continues to reinforce my belief that when wellbeing is prioritised, learning and long-term success can flourish.
Reflection and development remain central to my practice, and I am always looking for ways to strengthen the support we provide to students and their families. While our most recent Ofsted judgement recognised the school as ‘Good’, I believe there is always room to grow. I am passionate about supporting staff through meaningful professional development, recognising that confident, well-supported staff have a positive impact on students’ wellbeing, confidence, and outcomes.
