With the holidays in full swing, our Summer Camps continued to give local children opportunities to stay active, have fun, and make new friends. We delivered a variety of camps, including dance, football, multi-sport, esports, and SEND, alongside Holiday Activity and Food places at camps, helping children access free, healthy meals throughout the holidays.
Our Premier League Kicks HAF Camp enjoyed a fantastic day at Bloomfield Road, watching Blackpool FC’s first team during their open training session. Fraser Horsfall visited our Armfield Sports Camp, answering questions, signing autographs and taking photographs, creating a memorable experience for everyone involved.
Our Community Club continued to provide valuable support throughout August, hosting several external services and making advice and guidance more accessible to participants.
We welcomed organisations and local businesses to our Community Partners Event, showcasing our work and highlighting the importance of partnership working within our community.
We were delighted to welcome The Beautiful Game Tour to Bloomfield Road as they entered the final week of their journey.
We also delivered our first Esports Fan Zone of the season, inviting Blackpool FC fans to enjoy our gaming zone ahead of kick-off and experience another exciting element of matchday.
There was plenty to celebrate on the pitch too, with Blackpool FC Ladies making a positive start to the season with a 4-2 victory over Haslingden.
August was also a month of celebration for our young people. On International Youth Day, we highlighted the value young people bring to our communities and celebrated their achievements and contributions. We also wished students receiving their GCSE results the very best of luck before welcoming many new students to Blackpool FC Sports College on enrolment day across our Sports and Esports courses. There’s still time to enrol!
Our community groups remained active throughout the month. Get Fit Keep Fit enjoyed their monthly walk to Hoghton Bottom, while Active Minds marked the end of their season with a social evening at Ten Pin Bowling. Our Armed Forces community also enjoyed their monthly trip, visiting The ARVO Heritage Museum.
We also helped local families prepare for the new school year by hosting a Pop-Up Back to School shop at the stadium. Community members were able to access brand-new school uniforms and other school essentials completely free of charge, helping to reduce some of the financial pressure and stress that can come with the return to school.
From keeping children active during the holidays and supporting families, to celebrating young people, welcoming new students and strengthening community connections, August has once again highlighted the breadth of work taking place at Blackpool FC Community.
