BFC School had the fantastic opportunity to play at Bloomfield Road this week in a friendly fixture against Preston North End. It was a spirited and enjoyable match for everyone involved, creating memories the players will never forget.
One BFC School student said,
“Playing on Bloomfield Road was a dream of mine for many years. I’ve been a Blackpool fan my whole life – I even went to watch them get promoted to the Premier League in 2010 against Cardiff. To be able to play on the pitch where I watch my idols play, against Preston, and beat them 3-0, will be a memory I will forever cherish in my heart.”
Another added,
“I still can’t believe that I got to experience playing on Bloomfield Road. It was an amazing experience and so much fun, especially getting to play Preston North End. It was one of the best things I’ve done in my life, thanks to everyone who made it happen.”

Blackpool FC Sports College also took to the iconic Bloomfield Road pitch for an exciting in-house fixture. The A and B teams went head-to-head in a competitive friendly, giving every player the opportunity to showcase their talent. It was brilliant to see the quality, commitment and potential on display from all of our students.
Rocco, a student at Blackpool FC Sports College, said,
“It was a proud moment. As a season-ticket holder at Blackpool FC, playing at Bloomfield Road was an exciting and surreal experience.”

We also held our annual Fit2Go Festival across three days, welcoming 1,200 Year 4 children from 22 local primary schools. The festival marks the conclusion of our Fit2Go classroom delivery programme, where staff teach children the importance of living a healthy lifestyle through a six-week programme.
Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make this year’s festival such a success.
Miss Singleton, SENDCO at Moor Park Primary Academy, said,
“Our children at Moor Park absolutely loved the Fit2Go Festival. All the children had a fantastic experience at the stadium and enjoyed all the activities on offer. Please thank the staff for being so organised and making it special for all of them!”

We also hosted a highly successful Tiny Tangerines On The Pitch event, bringing together more than 100 young children from our Armfield Academy, Unity Academy and Aspire Sports Hub sessions, alongside local partner nurseries.
The event provided a fantastic opportunity for some of our youngest participants to experience the excitement of playing on the pitch, creating lasting memories for both the children and their families. Designed to encourage early engagement in physical activity, the day showcased the impact of the Tiny Tangerines programme in supporting children’s development through fun and inclusive football sessions.
Sports Development Manager, Oliver Clarke, said,
“It was fantastic to see so many young children come together and enjoy such a special experience. Events like this are a brilliant way to celebrate the work happening across our Tiny Tangerines sessions and with our partner nurseries. The smiles on the children’s faces said it all – it was a really memorable day for everyone involved.”

Blackpool FC Girls and Ladies also had the opportunity to train at Bloomfield Road this week. The experience was enjoyed across all age groups within the club, from the Under-10s through to the Ladies’ First Team.
All attending squads took part in training drills and match play on the pitch, with a photographer present to capture the evening. The Ladies’ First Team arrived early to train alongside the younger age groups, highlighting the clear player pathway within the club and the progression opportunities available to all players.
The occasion allowed younger players to be inspired by the First Team while also strengthening relationships across all levels of the club.
Blackpool FC Ladies First Team Captain, Alice Earnshaw, said,
“Firstly, we would like to thank Blackpool FC and Blackpool FC Community Trust for this opportunity. Being able to play at the iconic Bloomfield Road is a fantastic experience, and one many players will remember forever. Events like this highlight the talent we have within the club, but also the support we have externally.”

Later this month, we will also host an Under-16s grassroots tournament on the pitch. Keep your eyes peeled for the content.
