Fit2Go Festival 2026

Blackpool FC Community Trust welcomed Year 4 classes from 22 Blackpool primary schools to Bloomfield Road for the 2025 Fit2Go Festival, our annual celebration marking the end of the six-week Fit2Go healthy lifestyle programme delivered in local primary schools.

Held over three fun-filled days, the festival gave more than 1,200 children the unforgettable opportunity to play on the immaculate first-team pitch, taking part in games such as football and handball, alongside other fun activities around the stadium.

Staffed by Blackpool FC Community Trust coaches, along with Blackpool FC Sports College BTEC and Degree students, the event was designed to create lasting memories for the children in a truly unique setting.

The hospitality suites hosted lively dance sessions, while other parts of the stadium buzzed with excitement and activity. Some schools even chose to enjoy their lunch in the stands, soaking up the atmosphere of Bloomfield Road.

The festival focused on fun, participation, and engagement, and it was a huge success by every measure. Children and staff alike supported and motivated each other throughout the day, celebrating the progress they made through the Fit2Go programme.

Miss Singleton, SENDCO at Moor Park Primary Academy said,

“Our children at Moor Park absolutely loved the Fit2Go Festival! All the children had a fantastic experience at the stadium and enjoyed all the activities that were on offer. Please thank the staff for being so organised and making it special for all of them!”

Mrs Byrne, Year 4 teacher at Stanley Primary School said,

“All the children at Stanley Primary School have had a fantastic time at the Fit2Go Festival at Blackpool Football Club. The afternoon was packed with exciting activities designed to promote health, teamwork and having fun whilst staying active. From football to dodgeball to circuits and even dance, there was something for everyone! It was non-stop fun from start to finish.
“One of the highlights of the day was getting to stand on the pitch where so many of their footballing idols play and they loved every moment of being at such a special venue. What an experience! One child summed it up perfectly by saying, “It was the best day of my life!” All of our children will remember this day for a very long time and we can’t wait to return again next year.
“Thank you to all those at BFCCT who organised such a memorable day.”

Simon Smith, Primary PE Manager at Blackpool FC Community Trust, whose team ran and hosted the event, was thrilled to see the event again be a huge success.

“We’re absolutely delighted to once again work alongside the football club and ground staff to bring this fantastic experience back for another year. Seeing the excitement on the children’s faces as they enter the stadium and step out onto the pitch is truly special. For many of them, it’s an opportunity they never imagined they would have, and it creates lifelong memories for them.

“The festival continues to be one of the highlights of our early years and primary calendar and plays such an important role in encouraging children to stay active, live a healthy lifestyle, and enjoy the benefits of a physical activity. We had fantastic weather for the three days, which added to the experience of the 1200 children who attended!

“A huge well done and thank you to everyone who attended and also helped make this year’s event another great success!”
