Coming up in May

With the weather getting warmer and more and more people getting excited for the summer months, it’s the perfect time to tell you what we have going on and what you can get involved with throughout May.

May Half-Term Camps (30th May – 2nd June)

Our school holiday Sports Camps are the perfect opportunity for children to have fun, make new friends and improve their sports skills. The Community Trust will be delivering a variety of exciting activities, including football, dodgeball, cricket, dance and many more. These camps are designed to provide a fun and challenging environment for children of all skill levels, ages 5 to 14.

  • Sports Camp @ Unity Academy (8 am – 5 pm)
  • Sports Camp @ Armfield Academy (9 am – 5 pm)

If sports camps are not for you, we also have Football Camps at Aspire Sports Hub (formally PlayFootball) that focus on all aspects of the game. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to improve your skills and take your game to the next level.

  • Football Camp – ages 5-14 years old (8 am – 5 pm)
  • Girls Football camp – ages 7-14 years old (8 am – 5 pm)

We also have our Holiday Activities and Food Camps (HAF) for children who receive free school meals which take place at local primary schools.

Fit2Go Festival (22nd May – 24th May)

We have the Fit2Go festival coming up this month at the end of May. Over the course of three days, we will invite all year 4 students from local primary schools to Bloomfield Road to take part in sessions of physical activity which will be based in various locations around the stadium. After last year’s success, we are hoping to engage 1500 students over the course of these three days.

Beaverbrooks Enterprise Programme

Our High School Hub Mentors have been busy delivering our Beaverbrooks Enterprise Programme to 7 of our partner high schools and will continue to deliver this up until Summer. We are engaging over 180 pupils in the programme, preparing them for the Enterprise Challenge at the end of the academic year. Stay tuned across our social media platforms to stay up to date on their progress.

PL Inspires

Our PL Inspires Challenge winners are busy undertaking their social action project this month. Their project idea was voted the best in February at our PL Inspires Challenge. They have worked closely with the club to collect all single-use plastic cups from recent Blackpool FC home fixtures. In doing so they have now been granted space at their school to decorate them and use them as planters for flowers to support wildlife and local ecosystems on their school grounds. Look out for how they get on with their project in the coming months.

Programme Fair (14th May)

A Programme and Memorabilia fair has been organised and will take place on Sunday 14th May 2023 at our Education & Community Centre. Light refreshments will be available when doors open at 10 am and the fair will run until 2 pm. £1 entry fee.

For more information on the programme fair, please contact info@bfcct.co.uk.
