A Look Back at February 2026

The month of February has been another busy and successful period, filled with engaging events, community activity and memorable experiences.

We began the month by delivering our annual Premier League Inspires event at Bloomfield Road, welcoming local high school students to present their social action projects. This year’s theme focused on positive body image, encouraging young people to explore confidence, wellbeing and self-esteem through meaningful initiatives. The standard of presentations was extremely high, with Armfield Academy crowned the overall winner following an impressive showcase of ideas.

Throughout the half-term, we delivered our popular holiday camps. Dance Camp, Football Camp, Sports Camp, Stars Camp and HAF Camp provided young people with the opportunity to stay active, develop new skills and enjoy a fun and supportive environment.

In recognition of World Cancer Day, we highlighted the support available for individuals living with cancer, raising awareness of how physical activity and community engagement can support health and well-being.

Continuing our focus on improving fitness within the community, we launched our 90 Day Challenge as part of Get Fit Keep Fit, encouraging participants to commit to long-term lifestyle changes and personal fitness goals.

February also saw us host an open evening at Blackpool FC Sports College, welcoming prospective students and their families to explore our facilities and learn more about the educational opportunities available across both our Sport and Esports courses. Alongside this, we delivered another Esports Matchday event, providing participants with valuable competitive experience in an exciting and professional environment.

Our participants enjoyed visits from Blackpool FC first team players Franco Ravizzoli, Andy Lyons, George Honeyman, James Husband and Fraser Horsfall, who spent time engaging and sharing their experiences from the professional game. These visits created lasting memories for those involved.

Thanks to the continued support of Blackpool Supporters Trust, our Elective Home Educated group, BFC School students and Premier League Inspires Challenge winners and runners up attended Blackpool FC fixtures at Bloomfield Road, many experiencing live football for the very first time! In addition, Tristan’s Dream Tickets made a generous donation to Blackpool FC Community Trust, further supporting our ongoing community work.

We delivered our Fit2Go final assembly with Year 4 pupils at Stanley Primary School, celebrating the completion of another successful six-week Fit2Go programme. The assembly provided an opportunity to recognise the pupils’ hard work, enthusiasm and commitment to learning about healthy lifestyles, nutrition and the importance of staying active. Throughout the programme, students developed their understanding of making positive choices around food and exercise, and the final celebration marked a fantastic conclusion to their journey.

The month concluded with an exciting collaborative event delivered alongside CBeebies Parenting as part of a new campaign from the EFL. Working together with EFL in the Community, our Tiny Tangerines team hosted the first event focused on Active Play, highlighting the importance and benefits of playing actively with young children from an early age, an area of shared importance for both organisations.

Overall, February has been a month filled with positive impact, strong community engagement, and continued opportunities for participants of all ages to learn, develop, and enjoy sport, education, and wellbeing activities. We look forward to what’s to come in March.
