What’s On in May 2025

This May, we will continue to deliver a wide range of impactful activities and support across Blackpool. From cost of living initiatives and veteran support to health and wellbeing sessions, youth engagement programmes and community outreach, there’s something for everyone. Whether you’re looking to get active, connect with others, or access support, our May timetable is packed with opportunities to get involved and make a difference.

Cost of Living Support

The Big Food Truck will visit the North Stand Community Hub at Bloomfield Road Stadium every Tuesday from 2pm to 3pm. To place an order, send your NAME to 07908663674.

Community Cohesion

Our Community Cohesion project encourages ladies from all different backgrounds to get together and positively impact their neighbourhood. We are also hoping to attend the litter pick with Blackpool Sea Life Centre on Tuesday 6th May. If anyone would like to join us, please contact: 01253 348691 or email info@bfcct.co.uk

Cancer Awareness

Throughout May, our team will attend local venues to encourage sun care and spread awareness about skin cancer.

Community Walk

Every Tuesday from 10am to 11am you can join us for a community walk. The meet-up point is at the North Stand Community Hub at Bloomfield Road Stadium.

Armed Forces

Our Armed Forces provision will continue as normal this month. With NAAFI Break on Wednesdays from 10:30am to 12pm in the Corner Flag at Bloomfield Road Stadium, Walk & Talk on Thursdays at Stanley Park from 1:30pm to 3:30pm and Forces Football at Aspire Sports Hub from 6pm to 8:30pm on a Friday evening.

Our veterans’ Gardening Club takes place on Thursdays at the Fylde Memorial Arboretum and Community Woodland from 10am to 12pm.

We will also deliver our monthly sessions as normal, join us at our Veterans Breakfast Club on Tuesday 6th May from 10am to 11am @ The Grange.

Monday Women’s Football Session – Aspire Sports Hub – 6pm to 7pm

Thursday Men’s Football session – Palatine Leisure Centre – 8pm to 9pm

Due to Active Minds’ ever-growing size, we are pleased to announce that there will be a new session launching, dates to be announced in May.

Active Minds will also be hosting a session on the pitch at Bloomfield Road on Wednesday 21st May.

Move More are still looking for people living within Bloomfield, Tyldesley, Victoria and Park wards who are interested in developing a community group to support their local community needs. Get in touch: movemore@bfcct.co.uk

Get FIT with BFCCT through our large timetable of fitness classes at locations across Blackpool, pay £3 per class or sign up to our £20 a month rolling membership for unlimited access to our full timetable! Classes include Circuits, BoxFIT, ClubFIT, Pilates and Strength & Stretch. We would love to see new and old faces at the sessions.

Female Football

Our FA Girls’ Emerging Talent Centre (ETC) Under 10’s are attending a Futsal festival vs Westmorland’s ETC and Carlisle ETC on May 9th.

Our FA Girls Emerging Talent Centre (ETC) Under 10’s, Under 12’s, Under 14’s, and Under 16’s are playing against Crewe ETC at the Mornflake Stadium.

Premier League Kicks 

Our Premier League Kicks activities will be in full swing this May, offering FREE drop-in sessions for young people aged 8 to 18 across Blackpool.

Blackpool FC Sports College

Throughout May and June, some of our college students will be sitting their GCSE exams.

We are holding a college open evening on May 20th from 5pm – 7pm, if you are in Year 10 and 11, come along to learn more about our courses, enrichment and tutors!

We will also be having a visit from the British Red Cross on May 15th who will be delivering a workshop on coping with challenges.

Our degree students will be going on their annual residential trip.

2nd Year residentials 29th April – 1st May

3rd Year residentials 6th – 9th May

1st Year residential 28th – 30th May

On these visits to the University of South Wales in Cardiff, students will complete various assessments from practical delivery to theory presentations to finalise their success this academic year.

Esports

We will be holding an Esports Match Day event when Blackpool FC face Bristol Rovers on Saturday, 3rd May from 11am to 2pm at Bloomfield Road Stadium in the North Stand Community Hub.
