Easter Half Term Camps – (2nd – 12th April)
Our Sports Camps are the perfect place for children to have fun, make new friends and improve their sports skills. We will be delivering a variety of exciting activities, including football, dance, multisport sessions and more. These camps are designed to provide an enjoyable and challenging environment for children of all skill levels.
- Armfield Academy: 9am – 5pm
- Unity Academy: 8am – 5pm
We also offer a wide range of Football Camps and Dance Camps, designed for those of all abilities, to gain confidence, refine skills and socialise. Football Camps are taking place at Aspire Academy and Dance Camps are taking place at AVR Dance School.
- Football Camp: 8am – 5pm
- Girls Football Camp: 8am – 5pm
- Dance Camp 9am – 3:30pm
We also have our Holiday Activities and Food Camp (HAF) for children who receive free school meals, find out more here.
We also have our Stars Disability Camp for children living with a disability in the local area. This takes place from 11 am – 3 pm in the Education and Community Centre @ Blackpool FC excluding bank holidays. To book, please email info@bfcct.co.uk.
Breakfast Club will return on the 19th and 26th of April from 9:30am to 11am in the North Stand Community Hub. Grab a brew, toast, and cereal before taking part in a variety of activities with your little one. From arts and crafts to storytimes, mini discos and summer walks, we would love to welcome you. This session is £1 per person.
- Teachers Cup Football – Monday 15th and Tuesday 16th of April. This is an in-house game where all students can register to play before presenting a live draw to allocate each student a team/manager. Each team is managed by a BTEC tutor, and they will go head-to-head with one team taking victory on day two of the event.
- The JJ Effect workshop – Tuesday 16th April. This is a collaborative effort between Blackpool FC Sports College and Blackpool FC School, which aims to shed light on the realities of knife crime by offering students an intimate glimpse into an individual’s life impacted by such violence. Through personal narratives and testimonies, participants gain invaluable insights into the profound repercussions of knife-related incidents on individuals and their communities.
- Careers Day – Thursday 18th April. A day to give all of our students an insight into different careers within the sports sector and public services.
- Open Evening – Thursday 30th of April from 5pm to 6.30pm. Gain an insight into college life at Blackpool FC Sports College, meet the tutors and try out some of the subjects that you may study as part of your course!
Community Cohesion update
- On Friday 5th April young people from our Bispham PL Kicks session will be representing BFCCT in a Under 13’s competition held at Liverpool FC Foundation against Liverpool and Fleetwood.
- In mid-April, the next episode of our Get Vocal Podcast will be released, this episode will feature our very own CEO, Ash Hackett.
- On Saturday 6th April, our second PL Kicks Youth Voice meeting is taking place ahead of the Cambridge United game with the young people receiving free tickets to the match too. Youth Voice provides young people with the opportunity to have their say on local issues and strengthen the PL Kicks provision. Most recently, the group have been working with Jess, our Marketing and Communications Team Leader, to design new PL Kicks leaflets that better represent the young.
- On Friday 19th April, Beth Wilmott from Lancashire Police & Crime Commissioners Office (PCC) is visiting the Tower Above programme to meet staff/young people and see the impact of our work. Lancashire PCC has kindly funded £10k towards the programme for 2024 allowing the provision to grow and us to work with more young people.
- Our Under 12s, 14s & 16s are looking forward to their upcoming fixture at Brunton Park, home of Carlisle United FC Men’s 1st team in a fixture against Carlisle United’s Emerging Talent Centre.
- We are also looking forward to playing against Blackpool Rovers Emerging Talent Centre Under 12s.
- Our Ladies’ first team have introduced a second weekly training session at Aspire Sports Hub.
- Our Future Lioness Development Centre sessions for all age groups will relaunch after the Easter holidays.
- On the 15th of April, our Girls Goalkeeper Development Centre sessions Under 9s to Under 12s and Under 13s to Under 16s will also be relaunching after the Easter Holidays.
Our PL Inspires winners will host their pre-matchday event at Bloomfield Road, raising awareness and funds for Get Vocal (our men’s mental health group). Later in the month, the winners will visit Wembley Stadium to celebrate the completion of their social action project at an event hosted by the Premier League.
After the Easter break our High School Hub Mentors will begin the rollout of Beaverbrook’s Enterprise Programme. Here pupils display their business expertise and come up with a business idea in the hope of reaching the final in July.
The Big Food Truck will be visiting our North Stand Community Hub on Tuesday afternoons 2pm – 3pm. You can pre-order a food parcel by sending your NAME to 07908663674. Food Donations on Matchday
This season we continue to support our community by holding food donation points on match days. This takes place at every home game with the drop-off point being in the South Stand, close to the Junior Seasiders activity space.
