Act Now, Age Better

Age UK’s new campaign, Act Now, Age Better, is a powerful reminder that looking after our health today can help us enjoy a stronger, more active tomorrow. Aimed at people aged 50 to 65, the campaign encourages small, positive changes that can make a real difference, from moving more often to building healthier daily habits. By acting now, we can improve our well-being, stay independent for longer, and make the most of life in the years ahead.

Our walking sports offer a welcoming and inclusive way for people to stay active, social, and connected. With several walking football sessions held each week, alongside our engaging walking cricket and walking netball sessions, there are plenty of opportunities for participants to get involved at a pace that suits them. These activities support the aims of Age UK’s ‘Act Now, Age Better’ campaign, encouraging healthier, more active lifestyles as we get older. We strongly believe in the power of sport to improve quality of life, boosting physical health, enhancing mental wellbeing, and bringing communities together through fun and friendly participation.

Walking Football
Mondays 5pm – 6pm

Walking Netball
Walking Netball sessions are designed to be fun, friendly and accessible for all abilities. A great way to stay active, improve fitness and build friendships in a relaxed environment. Whether you haven’t played since school or just want a gentler version of the game, this is the perfect way to get involved.

If walking sports aren’t quite what you’re looking for, we also offer our popular Get Fit, Keep Fit sessions, which take place at several locations throughout the week. These sessions are friendly, welcoming, and designed to help people of all abilities stay active and improve their fitness in a supportive environment. In addition, we organise social walks at the end of each month, providing a relaxed opportunity to enjoy some fresh air, meet new people, and stay connected while keeping active.
