A look back at March 2026

March was a busy and exciting month, packed with a wide range of activities, events, and achievements across our programmes.

We began the month by celebrating World Book Day in style, hosting a fantastic event at Bloomfield Stadium. Children from across the community were invited to attend, to collect free books and take part in a fun competition. The day was a great success, promoting a love of reading while creating a memorable experience for all involved.

We also proudly supported the Level Playing Field Unite for Access campaign, highlighting the importance of making sport inclusive and accessible for everyone. As part of this initiative, we invited our Stars Camp attendees to a Blackpool FC fixture, allowing them to experience live football in an inclusive and welcoming environment.

Our Premier League Kicks programme celebrated the end of its 5-a-side league season with an awards event held at Aspire Sports Hub. It was a brilliant way to recognise the hard work, commitment, and achievements of all participants throughout the season.

This month also saw the launch of our new Walking Netball sessions, which proved to be a great success. The sessions were well attended and provided a fun, inclusive way for participants to stay active and social.

We were delighted to present Leia Goodman with the Premier League Community Captain Award in recognition of her dedication and hard work. This was a well-deserved honour and a proud moment for everyone involved.

Our degree students had the opportunity to attend a Blackpool FC Under-18s fixture, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. It provided a valuable insight into the development pathway within the club.

Saint John Vianney Primary School proudly represented us at the Premier League Primary Stars regional final. They had a fantastic time, and we would like to say well done to everyone involved for their efforts and enthusiasm.

Blackpool FC Ladies played their final game of the season, finishing in an impressive 5th place in the league. Congratulations to the team on a strong campaign.

Across Blackpool, we began delivering our Easter camps. These camps have been fantastic, offering a wide variety of activities and a surprise visit from Blackpool FC First Team player Albie Morgan!

Blackpool FC Sports College had a particularly busy month, hosting several engaging events. Students took part in a sports day-themed event at Revoe Park, had a visit from Wasted Lives, who delivered an important session on safe driving, and attended a careers fair featuring both internal and external employers, giving insight into a range of future pathways.

Finally, BFC School students also had an action-packed March. Activities included paddle sessions, MMA training, trips to Stanley Park, and joining in with World Book Day celebrations.

Overall, March has been a hugely successful month, filled with opportunities, achievements, and memorable experiences across all areas of our work.
