We Hosted a CBeebies Parent Event at Bloomfield Road!

On Saturday, 21st February, we partnered with the BBC’s CBeebies team to deliver a parent engagement event at Bloomfield Road Stadium, the first time an English Football League club has worked alongside CBeebies to host a dedicated parent-focused session of this kind.

Held in the Matthews Suite, the event welcomed around 200 parents and young children for a fun and informative day designed to provide families with practical ideas for free, engaging activities they can enjoy together at home.

The session included activities delivered by our Sport Development Team Leader, Gaz, who led sessions from our Tiny Tangerines Mini Football. These activities introduced families to simple movement, play, and football-based games that support early childhood development through active participation. Families took part in singing sessions, interactive activities, mini games, and a bubble party, helping to create an enjoyable and relaxed environment for everyone involved.

Across the Matthews Suite, CBeebies and partners hosted several stalls promoting programmes and resources available to families, with parents able to take home activity ideas to continue learning and play outside of the event.

We hosted a stall and a colouring competition, while the Club’s mascot, Bloomfield Bear, was on hand to welcome families, take photographs with attendees and entertain throughout the day.

Oliver Clarke, Sports Development Manager at BFCCT said,

“We are incredibly proud to have partnered with CBeebies to host such a unique parent engagement event here at Bloomfield Road. Being the first EFL club to collaborate on a session of this kind is fantastic for us.

“Seeing over 200 parents and children enjoying learning through play, movement and football really highlights the power of creating simple activities that families can take home and continue together. A massive thank you to all the staff and volunteers who helped make the day such a successful event.”

The event was a huge success, allowing many families to get together, create new friendships and share ideas to support play and activity at home. Blackpool FC Community Trust is proud to be the first EFL club involved in this campaign alongside CBeebies.
