Blackpool FC Futsal A Team V Fleetwood Town Futsal A Team

Last week welcomed Fylde Coast Derby day with the Seasiders taking on the Cod Army. Blackpool started the game strong taking control of possession and applying lots of pressure on Fleetwood’s defence.

It wasn’t long before Blackpool made their mark with a three goal lead from Linikar and Waring Mitchell.  Fleetwood managed to secure one goal after a mistake by Blackpool, bringing the score to 3-1 at half time.

The half time break allowed Blackpool to refocus and the team came out enthused scoring five well-constructed goals from Waring Mitchell, Wilkinson and Penfold.

Fleetwood held on with two late comeback goals, but it wasn’t enough. Blackpool finished clear winners at 8-3.

Blackpool FC Futsal B Team V Accrington Stanley Futsal B Team

It was Accrington that took an early two goal lead in the first few minutes.  Blackpool were able to mount an attack with Nagliati snatching a goal back for Blackpool. Accrington were able to score a further goal after building on sloppy play by Blackpool bringing the score to 3-1.  Blackpool put Accrington under immense pressure leading to numerous fouls pressing their advantage to be awarded a penalty. Nagliati calmly slotted the ball home from a ten meter spot to finish 3-2 at the half.

Accrington were able to hold their lead with Blackpool having a large share of possession,  however it was Accrington’s good counter attacking play who took the advantage and scored four more goals. Blackpool managed to pull back one more goal through Severyn, but the score finished a disappointing 9-3 to Accrington.
