Blackpool A V Burnley A

Blackpool FC Community Trust’s Futsal A Team started the new season with additions in the form of some of our new Year 1 students.

Blackpool took advantage of Burnley’s weaknesses snatching an early two goal lead from Bosomworth and Linacre. Burnley then capitalised on some defensive errors making the score 2-2. The first half finished with goals from both sides brining the halftime score to 3-3.

After an encouraging team talk Blackpool took an early lead in the second half which was then later matched bringing the score to 4-4. Linacre secured a hat trick which brought the score to 5-4, seconds later Burnley matched the score again totalling 5-5. What a game!

Blackpool called a time out allowing time for tactical adjustments which proved vital. Influential attacking pressures on the Burnley defence resulted in a sixth goal for Blackpool from Shivam Rawat. Blackpool’s win was sealed with another goal from Bosomworth who worked the ball past three of Burnley’s defence and hitting a top corner flyer.

The final score was 7–5 to Blackpool. A fantastic starting point for the season although the lads have plenty to work on before the next fixture against Accrington Stanley in a couple of weeks’ time.

Blackpool B V Burnley B

The game kicked off with a few early challenges testing both goalkeepers, but it was Captain Ryan Waring Mitchell who led the team through for the first goal.

Building on their great start Blackpool dominated, in terms of possession and territory, with Josh Edwards in fine form as he lashed the ball into the net for Blackpool’s second.

By half time Blackpool were on top form with a 6-0 lead and were controlling the dynamics of the game.

Blackpool took full control of the second half with Ewan Mooney and Anthony Severyn grabbing a hat-trick of goals each, Connor Richards netting two, Dylan Nagliati scoring form a set piece and Waring Mitchell finishing well once more to put the game beyond doubt.

Burnley grabbed a late consolation goal as Blackpool lost concentration, but it wasn’t enough to take the shine off Blackpool’ B’s great start to the season.

Final score 15-1, a triumphant win for the Seasiders.
