Girls from eight high schools across Blackpool battled it out on Monday 24th November showing off their skills at the Football League Trust Girls Cup at Stanley Park.
Hosted by Blackpool FC Community Trust, the competition was a huge success, providing participants with an incredible experience.
In an exciting final, LSA Performing Arts an Technology College took on local rivals St Bede’s in a tight game. With outstanding football from both sides, Lytham St Annes finally broke the deadlock with a 1-0 victory.
With the growing profile of female football throughout the UK, the tournament provided the opportunity for local girls to showcase the talent which is growing across the Fylde Coast.
Blackpool FC Community Trust’s Rick Bryan said: “We would like to thank all the schools for taking part, it was terrific day and a great chance to bring together local schools for friendly competition.”
