February is now over and we are welcoming Spring into our lives as we enter the month of March. We have a jam-packed month ahead of us. Check out what we have planned below…
Premier League Primary Stars (PLPS) Kit Launch Festival
On Tuesday 5th March we are holding our celebration festival for the five schools that have received a free PLPS Nike Partnership girls football kit. Moor Park Primary School, Roseacre Primary Academy, Stanley Primary School, Hawes Side Academy, and St Kentigerns Catholic Primary School will be attending the event and all the players will compete against each other in their brand new football kits. Alice Earnshaw, Blackpool FC Ladies first team captain will be in attendance to speak to the players and hand out medals after the event.
These kits have been awarded to PLPS partner schools that have continued to work with BFCCT over the past few years as a way of saying thank you. These schools are also in need of a new kit or do not currently have one.
Blackpool FC Sports College students and staff have a busy month ahead:
- Home fixture vs Manchester City
- Open Evening
- Home fixture vs Burnley
- Careers Talk with Blackpool FC School
Protect the Planet Social Action
We are delivering our social action project Protect the Planet during the this half term linked to the big plastic count event week commencing 11th March.
The schools eco-councils are working closely with our staff to take part in a social action the encourage the whole school to count their plastic at home, record the results and see how much they recycle as a school across the week. They will also make posters to support the event to enthuse other children at the school to take part.
This will identify how much the recycle, where it is used, and how that effects the planet and reduces our carbon footprint.
World Book Day (7th March)
Blackpool FC Player posters have been circulated to all primary schools to help encourage positive reading habits.
Free Book Giveaway (9th March Match Day vs Portsmouth) – Visit our Education and Community Centre at the stadium between 1pm and 3pm on match day to collect a free book in partnership with National Literacy Trust.
