This year marks the centenary of the end of WWI. To mark this occasion, the Royal British Legion (RBL) is running a ‘Thank You’ campaign that will provide people with an opportunity to say thank you to the generation that lived through WW1. Those who served and sacrificed and the example and experience of those who lived through WW1 to shape the world we live in today. You can find out more here: https://www.britishlegion.org.uk/thank-you
You may also be aware that we, Blackpool FC Community Trust, also have our own veterans programme. Click here for more info. As part of this, in the lead up to Armistice Day, we will be linking in with the RBL ‘Thank You’ campaign through a series of short videos from Blackpool residents, employees of the club / Trust, or fans of the football club. If you, or someone you know, would like to be one of those contributors, we would like to hear from you.
Additionally, we will also be running two Armed Forces themed stadium tours during the week leading up to Armistice Day. These tours will take place on Monday 5th November from 11am until 12.30pm and Thursday 8th November from 1 to 2.30pm. To book a place click here or call the office.
This really is a hugely significant event that is also a great opportunity for Blackpool FC Community Trust to do something that will make us, and the community proud. If you would like to know more about this, or discuss any ideas you might have, please contact Jason White on 01253 348691 or jason.white@bfcct.co.uk.
