Blackpool FC Community Trust were at South Shore Academy as part of the EFL’s Action Day.
The EFL Action Day was an opportunity for the Trust to celebrate the fantastic work we do.
Blackpool FC Manager Gary Bowyer and Captain Andy Taylor joined the Trust at South Shore Academy, where over 200 students turned up to find out more about the fantastic programmes the Trust deliver across Blackpool.
BBC North West Tonight also made a special visit and filmed the event which was aired on BBC One later that evening.
Blackpool Manager Gary Bowyer was delighted to “give back” to the local community. Gary said, “It’s been a fantastic day. Blackpool FC Community Trust do a brilliant job in Blackpool catering for people of all ages. This Action Day event has given Andy and myself the opportunity to give back and let the students know about how they can get involved with Blackpool FC Community Trust.”
Andy Taylor, who is the Trust’s Education Ambassador believes the Action Day event was a great opportunity to let the students know about the importance of education. Andy said, “It’s vital the students know about the importance of education. I’ve always taken my education seriously as I did Biology in my A-Levels whilst I was trying to make it as a professional football player. It’s been drilled into me from an early age to take education very seriously. The Trust delivers a fantastic BTEC programme where you can get involved in Football Studies or Coaching Studies. I urge any school leavers to look into it.”
