Social Action Project Raises over £2,000

Blackpool FC Community Trust is celebrating the fantastic contribution NCS participants have made to the local Blackpool community.

NCS is government backed scheme for 15-17 year olds. NCS has four phases including: adventure, discovery, action and celebration.

As part of the social action phase, NCS participants deliver a community project about issues that matter. Last year, 187 NCS participants in Blackpool raised £2,080 for a number of different charities, including Swallows, Brian House, Fylde Sharks, Blue Skies and Hospital Funds.

Senior Recruitment Officer, Jonny Ellithorn who overseas the NCS programme for Blackpool FC Community Trust praised the NCS participants for making a positive impact in Blackpool. Jonny said, “It’s a fantastic achievement for our NCS participants to raise £2,080 for local charities in Blackpool. It just reinforces the incredible impact NCS has. I strongly urge any 15-17 year olds to get involved in NCS and give it a go because it is a fantastic confidence builder but also develops important life skills.”

Blackpool FC Community Trust is now recruiting for NCS Summer 2018. For more information on NCS and Blackpool FC Community Trust contact 01253 348691.
