Premier League Trophy Visits Bloomfield Road

The Premier League trophy visited Bloomfield Road on Thursday afternoon as Blackpool FC Community Trust hosted a special event with the support of the Premier League.

The famous trophy was paraded pitch-side at Blackpool FC and over 200 people attended which included primary and high school students, and the Trust’s BTEC students. Those in attendance were part of a short assembly led by the Premier League staff before having photo opportunities with the trophy itself.

Senior Physical Education Officer Chris Debar was delighted with the turnout and the many smiles that could be seen when the Premier League trophy was unveiled to the audience.

“It’s been fantastic to have the Premier League trophy here in Blackpool. Being able to share such a prestigious trophy with the local community has been a real pleasure and I’m sure it will stay in the memory of those who attended.”

Tom, Year 5, from St Cuthbert’s could not hide his delight when he saw the Premier League trophy. Tom said, “I’ve had a really good day visiting the Premier League trophy at Blackpool FC.

The Community Trust deliver the Premier League Primary Stars programme which is offered to all Blackpool and Fylde primary schools. This covers a range of areas such as P.E, PSHE, English and Maths, which the Community Trust are able to support the school with. To find out more information get in touch.

The trophy was also a reward for the Community Trust BTEC students who are currently on a variety of sport courses in further education which is available for school leavers.

Current BTEC student Michael, who is studying a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport, said “It’s one of the many perks of studying with Blackpool FC Community Trust. Millions of people watch it and to get a picture with the trophy as a reward is something I’ll never forget.”
