Premier League Kicks and New Fylde Futures Tournament May 2015
On Tuesday 5th of May 2015, Blackpool Football Club Community Trust held a 6-a-side football tournament on the pitch at Bloomfield Road. Ten teams representing Blackpool FC Community Trust Premier League Kicks and New Fylde Futures projects descended on Bloomfield Road to compete in the annual tournament. All the teams were selected from Premier League Kicks and New Fylde Futures venues – seven from Blackpool venues and three from New Fylde Futures venues.
Teams were drawn into two groups of five with the top two progressing into the semi-finals and the third and fourth places progressing into the consolation semi-finals. Each match was fiercely contested with a high standard of play from both teams, but it was PL Kicks Revoe side and New Fylde Futures St Annes team reaching the final. The Revoe team gave a good effort in the final but eventually ran out of steam with St Annes winning 4-0.
