Promising entrepreneurs from St George’s High School we welcomed to Blackpool Football Club as part of their PL Enterprise Academy programme. The young people spent the day gaining a valuable first hand insight into business and enterprise operations at a football club.
The Blackpool FC Community Trust Premier League Enterprise Academy has started delivery in High Schools across Blackpool. The Enterprise Academy is an exciting new programme for 2015, funded by the Premier League and Sport Relief.
The pupils from year 9 have been learning all about customers, product design, marketing and publicity. After completion of the programme the students took part in a Enterprise competition which involved creating new ideas to increase family attendance at match days.
The winning group created a fantastic idea which involved free transport on a family friendly bus service as well as discounted tickets and a reward incentive scheme.
The programme engages participants into business and enterprise and endeavours to make the young people more employable after leaving full time education.
