Pathway to success for Alice!

It has been a pleasure to work with Alice, who has progressed through the Blackpool FC Community Trust Female Football programme and has now beeninvited into the Pre-Emerging Talent Centre for talented Under 9 players.

Alice initially started attending our Future Lioness Development Centre on a Monday night, where she began working with our coaches to develop her football skills and understanding of the game. After several months of hard work, she was invited into our Elite Coaching Pathway, an invite-only session for high-ability girls. After continuing to excel, we invited her to join the Pre-Emerging Talent Centre Under 9s group, for the most talented Under 9 girls from all over the Northwest.

Andy Aspinall, Female Football Development Manager, said,

“It has been a brilliant to work with Alice, and to see her develop over the past 12 months. She entered our programme as a young player with lots of potential. She is a very quick learner and has a great attitude. She has bundles of energy, great speed and acceleration.

“Because of these attributes, our staff decided that the time was right to invite her into our elite programmes for girls of her age. We think Alice’s potential is sky-high, and we want to work closely with her to give her all the characteristics to play at the highest level. We pride ourselves on investing in young local female players. It is a privilege to play a small part in Alice’s journey, and we hope to help guide her over the next few years.”

With a proven track record of developing some of the most talented young players in the country, Blackpool FC Community Trust’s Female Football pathway is a fantastic place for young players to start their football journey. We have now launched a brand-new FA Wildcats session for girls aged Under 7 to Under 11 to come and develop their football skills in a fun, friendly and safe environment.

Andy added,

“These sessions are perfect for girls who already play for a team or are brand new to football. Players are split into groups depending on age, ability and experience. It is great to see girls of low, medium and high ability already attending, and we aim to grow this group to give young girls the best opportunities to work with our exceptional coaches. Girls who play for any team can attend, and it would be amazing to pack out this session with lots of local players!”

In addition to this, BFCCT also deliver very popular Girls Football Camps during half terms, which the staff use to identify talented players who may be suitable for some of our elite programmes, including the FA and Premier League funded FA Girls’ Emerging Talent Centre.
