Wednesday 12th April can potentially mark the start of your summer adventure thanks to Blackpool FC Community Trust and NCS.
If you are a current Year 11 or Year 12 student, you can register for a once in a lifetime experience with our NCS Summer programme – a four week programme which sees participants spend time away from home and delve into unique experiences.
We are hosting an NCS Open Evening this Wednesday, 5.30pm until 7pm at the Community Trust Offices located in the Matthews West Stand. The evening will give parents and teenagers a chance to find out about the NCS programme with our NCS team on hand to answer any questions you have on the night.
It is an open invite, as long as you are in Year 11 or Year 12 (aged 15-17) you are eligible to sign up for the summer of a lifetime.
NCS build skills and confidence and helps teenagers get ahead in work and life.
NCS invests over £1000 in each of our participants and Government backing means it will cost just £50 per person and sometimes even cheaper. This includes all meals and activities for the programme representing great value for money for parents. Financial support is available on a case by case basis and support is also provided for young people with additional needs.
Participants spend their first week at an outward bound facility away from home participating in activities such as abseiling, water rafting and canoeing before spending time to live independently, typically at youth centres learning how to be self-sufficient, developing new skills and finding out more about the needs of the local community.
From there, participants will plan and pitch for a community project in their local area. Not only do participants have the chance to give something back and pursue a unique experience, it also looks great on CV’s and helps with job, college and university applications. NCS is now recognised by UCAS and taking part is a sought after addition to any CV.
So shake up your summer, meet new people and throw them in a lake and sign up to NCS.
