On Tuesday 7th July, Blackpool FC Community welcomed more than 130 pupils from ten local primary schools for a Key Stage 1 Football Festival at Stanley Park Blackpool.

The rain held off allowing participants to benefit from a variety of exciting activities delivered by Blackpool FC Community Trust coaches. NCS young people and Community Trust Futsal Scholars volunteered at the event supporting the delivery of the circuit stations and refereeing small sided games.

The purpose of the day was to promote positive engagement in sport for physical health and fitness as opposed to competitive participation.

With temperatures rising and the sunshine gradually breaking through the clouds, the Football Festival was great fun for pupils, coaches and volunteers alike. NCS volunteers and Futsal Scholars valued the chance to gain experience in working with primary school children and especially enjoyed being able to pass on their passion for sport and physical activity to the next generation.
