Kickstart Your Career With Blackpool FC Community Trust

Blackpool FC Community Trust will be once again delivering its Kickstart employability programme at the end of June following a very successful first course.

Kickstart is a free programme for young adults and it offers them a pathway back into education or employment. The programme is for 16-24 year olds and lasts 15 weeks, which is delivered three times a week.

The first Kickstart programme saw participants do a variety of courses including Sports Leaders Award, First Aid at Work and NCFE Level 2 in employability. The students gained accredited qualifications and enhanced their CV and employability status.

From the first course, four students have successfully got back into full-time employment and two have applied for a place on the BTEC Level 3 in Coaching, Fitness and Development course, which is delivered by Blackpool FC Community Trust.

The Trust deliver a similar programme for 16-18 year olds called Traineeship which has been running for the last year.

Senior Employability Officer Rick Bryan for Blackpool FC Community Trust, believes the programme has been a success and is looking forward to delivering it once again. Rick said, “Our first programme has gone brilliantly. I’m delighted that six out of 12 students have found exit routes back into employment or education from the partnership links created through attending the Kickstart programme.”
