Blackpool FC Community Trust’s Kicks team took on Liverpool FC Foundation’s Kick team in a North West Regional Fixture, played at Anfield Sports & Community Centre. Blackpool ran out 9-8 winners in a pulsating match.
Blackpool’s team consisted of the Kicks participants who attend the Playfootball.net Kicks session on Tuesday evenings.
Blackpool produced a spirited performance as they trailed 6-3 at half-time but goals from Matthew Guy and Lewis Godley, turned the game on its head and Blackpool beat Liverpool 9-8.
Senior Community Involvement Officer, Michael Brown, who delivers the Kicks programme was delighted with the performance from the Kicks participants and said they fully enjoyed their day out. Michael said, “It was an excellent day out. The lads performed to a high standard and had the bravery to come back and win 9-8. They all thoroughly enjoyed the experience and I want to thank Liverpool FC Foundation for hosting the match.
