Blackpool FC Community Trust offer a range of Further and Higher education programmes that can’t be studied elsewhere.
- BTEC level 1 Sport and Active Leisure
- BTEC level 2 Leadership through sport
- BTEC level 3 Sport (Coaching, development and fitness)
Our courses have different pathways available depending on what you want to do in the future:
Our Football Academy allows you to:
- Train and compete like a professional footballer whilst receiving a quality BTEC education in a range of sporting subjects
- Play regular 11 a-side-fixtures and futsal against other professional football clubs
- Links to numerous semi-pro clubs
- Opportunities to attend an international training camp
Our Coaching Academy allows you to:
- Increase employability opportunities whilst learning and developing the skills needed to become a professional sports coach or PE teacher
- Gain up to 5 FREE coaching qualifications in addition to your BTEC qualification
- Learn from real sports coaches and experienced teachers in a range of sporting environments
- Weekly work experience in local schools supporting PE delivery and disability sports, over 50s and early years
- Opportunities to attend an international training camp
It doesn’t stop there…
The Trust also deliver a two year Foundation Degree in Community Football Coaching and Development, and a further (one year) BSc (Top Up) Degree in Community Football Coaching, Development and Administration in association with the University of South Wales.
As part of getting a Degree you are able to study a number of coaching related disciplines with the opportunity to take part in extensive work-based learning opportunities in the ‘real world’. Specific football coaching modules are taught, providing the foundations to begin your career in the sports and leisure industry.
All above courses are delivered in our new Education and Community Centre, previously known as the Club shop, in the North West corner at Bloomfield Road. Our brand new development includes purpose-built classrooms, an activity space, a fitness gym and a family room.
