Blackpool FC Futsal A Team V Preston North End Futsal A Team
The game started with great intensity with both teams defending well and looking to counter attack at any opportunity. Blackpool drew first blood as Linacre finished well beating his man and sliding the fall into the far post.
Preston called a time out and were able to refocus quickly and were rewarded with a goal just a minute later. A quick succession of long-range shots from Preston saw them take a clear lead 5-1 leaving the Blackpool players frustrated.
The second half was again frustrating for Blackpool as they were able to create excellent attacking flow and plenty of good scoring opportunities, but the Preston keeper made some fantastic saves and was able to keep the ball out the back of the net. Preston were able to get another two goals before the end of the game, making the final score 7-1 to Preston.
Blackpool FC Community Trust Futsal B Team V Accrington Stanley FC Futsal B Team
On the 13th of May, Blackpool B played Accrington B. Accrington took a large share of possession five minutes into the game as Blackpool struggled to get going, Accrington made it count as they took a quick two goal lead. Blackpool refocused and were then able to get back in to the game with a goal from a long throw from Best which somehow took a deflection from their keeper and ended up in the back of the net. However, this did not change the game as Accrington were able to get two goals before the end of the half.
The start of the second half saw Blackpool start stronger and they were rewarded with two goals from Valentine and Penfold but Accrington responded with a quick two goals themselves. As the game opened up the goals were finding the back of the net at both ends. Accrington took a late lead 9-8 but with 30 seconds left, but Blackpool were able to equalize and the game ended 9-9.
