Food Bank Collections at Bloomfield Road

Working with Blackpool FC, Blackpool Supporters’ Trust and the Armfield Club, we will proudly be collecting food donations for Blackpool Food Bank at every home game for the remainder of this season.

Starting with Saturday’s fixture against Nottingham Forest, we are asking supporters to bring along items to support this important cause.

Jason White, Head of Community Programmes at Blackpool FC Community Trust said,

“This work has been superbly led by the Armfield Club and BST, and I’m delighted that we can play a role in supporting this initiative as we know how much food insecurity there is in the town, through our own delivery that happens across Blackpool. We also know that people are overwhelmingly decent and never miss an opportunity to support people when they need a little helping hand, and I’m sure this will be the case again.”

Two drop-off points will be in operation – one in the Education Community Centre (North Stand, opposite the Stan Mortensen statue) and another at the Armfield Club – from an hour before the match, so 11.30am for this upcoming game.

Eight of the ten most deprived neighbourhoods in England were situated in Blackpool in 2019 with almost 22% of the population claiming Universal Credit. As the price of living continues to increase it is a critical time for us to support those in the wider community in any way we can.

Blackpool Food Bank is a registered charity that helps individuals and families across the Fylde Coast, offering a full-time distribution centre that supplies food to more than 70 front-line services that support those in need.

Your contributions will be greatly appreciated.
