Blackpool FC Community Trust will be delivering our flagship Better Start Fit2Go Healthy Lifestyle Programme catered for children aged 1-4 and parents/guardians, at Claremont Children’s Centre.
Better Start Fit2Go is completely free of charge and will begin this Wednesday (28th September) at 2pm, finishing at 3pm.
Working in partnership with Better Start Blackpool, Better Start Fit2Go is a five week healthy lifestyle programme designed to motivate families across Blackpool to improve their knowledge of healthy eating, physical activity and oral health.
The structure of the programme is as follows:
Week 1 – Introduction
Week 2 – Meals and Portion sizes
Week 3 – Drinks and Snacks
Week 4 – Physical Development and sleep
Week 5 – Oral Health
Blackpool FC Community Trust will be helping parents and guardians to pick up tips and advice on how they can implement skills they have learnt on the programme.
The programme covers topics such as label reading advice, providing innovative ideas of fun physical activities to try at home and how families can lower their sugar and fat intakes.
All participants will also be provided with a workbook to guide them through the programme and to keep for reference in the future. Families completing the programme will also be awarded with a Better Start activity pack.
Early Years Office Rosie Newton believes the programme will educate participants and provide positive results. “We pride ourselves on delivering the best service to the local and wider community. This programme is completely free of charge and I encourage the people of Blackpool get involved.”
