Blackpool FC Community Trust’s CEO Ashley Hackett welcomed Damian along with Blackpool Council CEO Neil Jacks. It was an opportunity to showcase some of the fantastic work the Trust do on a regular basis.
Ashley said, “Today, we’ve had the Education Secretary Damian Hinds and he was really interested to find out about the provision we deliver at Blackpool FC Community Trust, in particular our education programmes including our BTEC provision and Traineeship programme which has been a huge success this season for 16-24 year olds.”
The Traineeship programme supports those who are aged 16-24 that are NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training), get back into the world of work. From the most recent cohort, thirteen Trainee students graduated.
Damian also presented some of our Traineeship students with their certificates. After presenting the certificates, Damian Hinds praised the Traineeship students for completing the course and wished them well. Damian said, “Thank you for allowing me to be part of the Traineeship graduation ceremony here. Good luck to everyone in their future and I hope more people will look at what you’ve done and be inspired to do something similar.”
