Blackpool FC Community Trust delivered a FFD under 13’s Girls Cup on Monday.
The Girls Cup, which was played at Stanley Park, had four local high schools attend – Baines, St Mary’s, St Bede’s and St George’s.
All the school teams played against each other with St Bede’s and St Mary’s coming out on top with the highest amount of points – which then led to a final between the two. St Bede’s came out winners after beating St Mary’s 2-0. St George’s and Baines pitted against each other in the third place play-off, with St George’s winning 2-0.
St Bede’s victory has culminated in them reaching the EFL Regional Competition which will take place in January.
Inclusion Officer, Mike Lee who organised the tournament was delighted with the outcome. Mike said, “It was great seeing four local high schools attend and fully participate in the competition. The football was at a great standard and I’m delighted that St Bede’s will be participating in the EFL Regional Competition in January and I think they will do brilliantly.”
