Blackpool BTEC students make it three league wins out of three to continue their great start to the season with a resounding 10-2 victory over Preston North End ‘C’
Blackpool managed to start quickly on a freezing cold Wednesday afternoon with Kai Clarkson-Lowe driving down the left wing and delivering a threatening cross, which found its way to Lewis Loughran on the edge of the area. He struck the ball ferociously on the half volley into the back of the net.
The game turned scrappy on a tight pitch, but under pressure James Ashworth cut inside and laid the ball off to Tom Hanslip, who knocked the ball out of his feet and smashed the ball into the bottom right hand corner from 25 yards out, doubling the BTEC students lead.
A third goal swiftly followed when Corey Bethel won Blackpool a penalty. The penalty was slotted home by Lewis to earn him his second goal of the game.
Blackpool were caught sleeping at the back from a simple long ball which left the Preston striker one on one with the keeper. The Number 15 remained calm and dribbled past the on rushing keeper and tapped in the Lilywhites first goal of the game, offering PNE a lifeline.
The half seemed to be coming to a close, with the tempo of the game dropping, then Tom had time to turn in the middle of the pitch. He supplied Kai with a sublime lofted through ball which left Kai one on one with the opposition keeper, who failed to keep out his powerful effort into the bottom right hand corner.

Blackpool continued to show their dominance with a replica of the Seasiders fourth goal occurred, when Tom’s through ball left Kai in behind the Lilywhites back four. However, this time Kai smashed the ball into the roof of the net, leaving the PNE keeper no chance. Malachi Eaves added a sixth when the defender picked up the ball on the edge of the box and slotted the ball in the bottom right hand corner.
A moment of magic from Tom gave Blackpool their seventh of the game and his second, when he chipped the ball over the keeper from the halfway line. This is definitely already placed on the list for goal of the season.
Kai continued to torment the Preston backline who could only manage to foul him in the area. This gave the Tangerines their second penalty of the game. Lewis stepped up and secured his Hat-trick by blasting the ball into the bottom left hand corner.
Substitute Charlie Smith got himself his first goal of the season when he pounced on the dropped ball by the keeper, widening the score line further. Preston managed to score their second goal of the game in the closing stages when the striker slotted the ball past Blackpool’s number one after he latched onto a good ball by the PNE central midfielder.
Blackpool ended the game in style with Kai getting himself a Hat-trick by chipping the keeper from close distance inside the area. This rounded off a fantastic victory for the BTEC students and kept up the great league form.
