BTEC Students striving to achieve – life skills in the Lakes!

On Tuesday 19th July 2016 our BTEC students embarked on a ‘glamping trip’ to Hillcroft Park Campsite in the Lake District.

The camping trip was organised by the education team as a celebratory trip to acknowledge the successes of our students for gaining excellent grades, 100% attendance and achievements in football and coaching.

The students were left to fend for themselves for 3 days developing life skills, such as cooking their own meals, organising activities, communication skills and gaining independence.

The activities that the students arranged included a trek around the National Trust site Aira Force, paddling in the river at Pooley Bridge, spending an afternoon on the lake in a motor boat, sports tournaments and afternoon lunch at a local eatery.

All involved thoroughly enjoyed time out looking at the spectacular views and partaking in activities that they have never experienced before.
