BTEC Students striving to achieve – life skills in the Lakes!

On Tuesday 19th July 2016 our BTEC students embarked on a ‘glamping trip’ to Hillcroft Park Campsite in the Lake District. The camping trip was organised by the education team as a celebratory trip to acknowledge the successes of our students for gaining excellent grades, 100% attendance and achievements in football and coaching. The students were left to fend for themselves for 3 days developing life skills, such as cooking their own meals, organising activities, communication skills and gaining independence. The activities that the students arranged included a trek around the National Trust site Aira Force, paddling in the river at Pooley Bridge, spending an afternoon on the lake in a motor boat, sports tournaments and afternoon lunch at a local eatery. All involved thoroughly enjoyed time out looking at the spectacular views and partaking in activities that they have never experienced before. Do you want to be celebrating with us next year?
