BTEC Students - Back to work

This week Blackpool FC Community Trust welcome new and returning students to Bloomfield Road fresh from the summer break. The BTEC courses, which are part of an extensive range of education programmes which the trust offer, have proven to be a popular choice with the young people of Blackpool. 45 students are currently enrolled, with places still available for those who may still wish to enrol. The students who are studying BTEC levels 2 and 3 in sports coaching or football studies have a choice of two pathways to follow during their timetable:

Sports Coaching

The coaching students will participate in coaching workshops and work experience placements throughout the academic year to enhance their coaching skills, whilst also undertaking FREE coaching qualifications in a sport of their choice.

Football Studies

The students who choose the football studies route will train 3 times per week with FA and UEFA qualified coaches, whilst also taking part in the English Football Trust (EFLT) Futsal development league alongside an 11 a side games programme.

The students started back on the 5th September and our teachers and coaches soon got them back into the education routine. Over the course of the induction week, students have participated in classroom based sessions, individual and team photo’s, coaching workshops and pre season training to get them ready for the upcoming football and Futsal fixtures which start next week.

Our new Senior Education Officer Mark Whalley said “Its been great to see all the new and returning students attend the induction week, and looking smart in their brand new training kit. The staff and students have had a busy week, with plenty of practical workshops in place to ease them back into the academic year. We are looking forward to another successful year in the classroom and on the playing field.”
