An impressive 43 students took part in the BTEC Football Studies trials day at Blackpool Sixth Form College. Current students joined those interested in joining the course in a 3-team round robin tournament, played to an extremely high standard.
The BTEC level 3 Football studies ensure teenagers wanting to work in sport are fully prepared for their future, and includes a full-time education package for 16 and 17 year olds. Students will have the opportunity to train up to 4 hours a week with Blackpool FC coaches, under the direction of the Football League Trust.
For those lucky enough to be selected for the course, weekly pre-season training starts on the 28th July in anticipation for regional futsal and 11-a-side leagues next season. The students will compete against sides such as Blackburn, Preston and many more to mix competitive sport with their education.
If you have just finished your GCSE’s or are 16-17 years old, there is still an opportunity to get involved ahead of the course starting on the 16th September.
