In partnership with Blackpool FC, in celebration of Black History Month we are asking primary school pupils to produce a newspaper front cover (template below) on an Inspirational Black Person.
Please use the Newspaper front page template provided as well as a supporting fact sheet to help create your article on the inspirational black person of your choice.
Pupils are invited to submit a piece on an inspirational black person from any field that has inspired them in any way. This competition is to celebrate and honour the achievements of black people such as Martin Luther King, Bob Marley, Rosa Parks or those closer to home such as teachers and family members.
Once judged the work will be returned to school.
The competition winner will receive a Blackpool FC kit and goody bag as well as a player visit for their school, to receive their prize.
To enter this competition:
Complete the Tangerine Times newspaper front page on someone you think is inspirational and why.
Include a picture and stats to justify why your subject is so inspirational.
The text itself can be either factual or emotive, but it must say why this person is inspirational to you and others.
The competition is open now and entries are to be left with your school reception by 12pm Friday 27th October. Winners of the competition will be announced by Blackpool FC Community Trust and Blackpool FC on Tuesday 31st October.
