What Is Changemakers?
Changemakers is a team for young people aged 16-17. The team is full of individuals who participate in activities that focus on social action projects, skill development and having a positive impact on things that matter to you in your local community. The team is active all year round with us aiming to do at least five hours of social action / skill development per month.
What do Changemakers Do?
During the year NCS will organize workshops to develop new and existing skills such as self confidence, teamwork and creativity.
The young people in changemakers also organize their own projects to make a positive change within their local community, impacting an issue that matters to them. Examples of this include raising money for local charities and keeping the local beaches clean. The young people do have control and can decide to do anything they believe needs to be positively changed, with the help and support of the NCS staff.
What Do Young People Get Out Of Becoming A Changemaker?
Becoming a changemaker is such an incredible opportunity as you will learn a lot about yourself and those around you. You will develop skills that will boost your CV and make you stand out amongst the crowd such as leadership, teamwork, creativity, planning, problem solving and project management. You will meet likeminded young people who have a passion to make a real difference in your local community making it a brighter future for everyone.
