Blackpool FC Community Trust Announces CEO Appointment

Blackpool FC Community Trust is pleased to confirm the appointment of Matt Hilton as Chief Executive Officer.

Matt has been part of the Trust’s senior leadership team for the past four years, serving as Deputy CEO before stepping into the role of Interim CEO earlier this year.

Having worked closely across the Trust’s programmes, staff team and partnerships, Matt brings a strong understanding of the organisation and the communities it serves. His appointment provides continuity as the Trust continues to build on its work across Blackpool and the Fylde Coast.

Wendy Swift, Chair of Trustees, said,

“Following a thorough recruitment process, the Board were unanimous in their decision to appoint Matt as CEO. He has a clear understanding of where we are as an organisation and, importantly, where we want to go next.

“We’re delighted to have Matt leading the Trust and we’re confident that he will continue to strengthen the Trust’s work, helping us to continue making a positive impact on so many local people.”

Matt Hilton, Chief Executive Officer, said,

“I’m incredibly proud to be appointed CEO of Blackpool FC Community Trust. Being born and bred in Blackpool, this is a particularly special opportunity for me, and one I don’t take for granted.

“I’ve seen first-hand the difference the Trust can make to people’s lives and to our communities. Being part of the wider Blackpool FC family makes this a real privilege, and I’m passionate about building on the strong connection between the football club, the Trust and the communities we serve.

“I’d like to thank the Board for putting their trust in me. I’m really looking forward to working with our staff, partners, Blackpool FC and the wider community to build on what we’ve achieved and continue to have a real impact on thousands of local lives.”

Blackpool FC Owner, Simon Sadler, added,

“I’d like to congratulate Matt on his appointment as CEO. I’m looking forward to seeing Matt and his team continue to build on the foundations the Trust has achieved so far, while strengthening the relationship between the Trust and the Football Club. By working together, we can reach even more people, to better support our local community and make an even bigger difference across Blackpool and the Fylde Coast.”
