Thanks to Blackpool FC’s ticket sponsor, Logo Logo, Blackpool FC Community Trust were able to welcome Tiny Tangerines players and families to Bloomfield Road on Saturday 1st October for Blackpool FC vs Norwich City. Parents and guardians told our coaches there were some very excited new members of the Tangerine Army who were looking forward to the big match, for some of those attending this was their first ever live football match.
Tiny Tangerines mini football sessions are a great way to introduce children, from the ages of 3 to 7 years old, to the fundamentals of movement, coordination and the basics to start their football journey.
Teamwork and sportsmanship are very important to us at Blackpool FC Community Trust. We believe these attributes help to create a fantastic learning environment for the children to grow and develop. We have designed age-appropriate sessions to meet the age group and also individual needs.
Players who attend Tiny Tangerines have the opportunity to develop lots of new skills and techniques in football and other sports. Tiny Tangerines sessions focus on mastering the ball and giving players the confidence to try new skills during training activities and small-sided games. As part of the programme, players can try any new techniques, skills and tactics they have learnt in a safe nurturing environment.
We run two groups at each of our venues, one for children in pre-school and reception and another for children in Year 1 and Year 2. These groups allow the players to progress, develop and challenge their peers. Each session is a building block for your child’s sporting development and acts as a pathway for them to feel confident enough to move into a local grassroots football team.
