We are proud to announce that members of Community Trust staff, volunteers and participants will be taking part in a fundraising challenge starting 19th September 2019.
Dave Marsland, Will Cowell, Brad Bayliss, and Les Endean will be running 150 miles from coast to coast (Scarborough to Blackpool) in just three days. They will be raising money for two charities: Blackpool Carers Centre and Blackpool FC Community Trust (BFCCT).
Dave Marsland, Inclusion Officer BFCCT said: “The challenge is a huge part of the motivation but the people we support through the work we do at the Trust is also a big factor. One of the programmes that I deliver as an Inclusion Officer at BFCCT is our Veterans programme. Within this programme, Les attends as a veteran and Brad supports me as a volunteer. All of us have seen first-hand how much impact this programme (and others that the Trust deliver) has on people. We are also delighted that Will Cowell, one of my colleagues, is joining us as he has recently completed a 100 mile endurance race and raised money for an Autism charity. His experience will be invaluable.”
The other half of the monies that are raised will be donated to the Blackpool Carers Centre as some of the individuals who attend our veterans group also receive support from the Centre.
“They do amazing work and knowing this will help me when I am feeling tired.”– Brad Bayliss, BFCCT Volunteer & Degree Student
If you would like to support them there is a Just Giving page available (here) AND they are holding a fundraising evening at The Belle Vue, Blackpool where there will be a DJ, a music quiz and a raffle. It would be great to see as many there as possible!
Blackpool FC Community Trust Veterans Coffee Morning takes place Monday 11am – 12:30pm, Bloomfield Road Stadium, FY1 6JJ, Mortensen Bar.
