New Programme: Football Fans and Betting

Have you ever lost more on a bet than you could afford to?

Blackpool FC Community Trust is recruiting men like you to a new eight-week programme for football fans who would like to learn how to change their relationship with betting.

The Football Fans and Betting (FFAB) programme will increase your knowledge of the betting industry and the tactics they use and give you new skills and techniques to manage your betting better.

Blackpool FC Community Trust community coaches will run a 90-minute group session each week at Aspire Sports Hub. Each session will provide information and discussion on betting with other men like you. You will also get a change to do some exercise with the group, if you want to.

Matt Hilton, Blackpool FC Community Trust Deputy CEO, said, “We are proud to be delivering the programme to support men aged 18 to 55 in Blackpool to control their gambling habits, while helping them to become fitter and healthier through physical exercise. Through the Football Fans and Betting programme, we want to inspire individuals to learn, be active and develop life skills, while continuing to improve the general, physical and mental wellbeing of our community.”

If you are aged between 18 and 55 and would like to get involved in FFAB or find out more about it, please follow this link.

Places on FFAB are completely free of charge, but they are strictly limited, so do get in touch now! The closing date for applications is 23/04/2023

Once you have registered and confirmed your interest/eligibility to take part, you will be invited to a FFAB information session at Aspire Sports Hub on Tuesday 25th April between 6pm – 7:30pm where you will be introduced to the team and how the sessions will work.

Blackpool FC Community Trust is delighted to be one of only two clubs selected to deliver FFAB. We are also pleased to be working with the Universities of Glasgow and Stirling to evaluate the project.
