Fit2Go Festival 2015

Over four days Blackpool FC Community Trust welcomed Year 4 pupils from 27 Blackpool primary schools to Bloomfield Road as part of the Award-Winning Fit2Go Programme.

Over six weeks the Fit2Go team deliver six classroom and physical activity sessions in every primary school in Blackpool. Pupils spend each classroom session being guided through a bespoke workbook touching on a different subject each week; Healthy lifestyles; Eat well; Physical activity; It’s all about balance; Snacks and label reading; Drinks and hydration, widening the pupils’ knowledge on all aspects of being healthy.

By the end of July delivery for the academic year will be complete and Fit2Go will have hopefully influenced the behaviour of the young people and their families showing them how to live a healthier lifestyle.

In addition to school delivery the Fit2Go coaches are delivering a family orientated extension of Fit2Go for the whole family to come along to free of charge, Family Fit2Go is delivered across Community venues in Blackpool.

Family Fit2Go consists of four interactive one and a half hour sessions delivered over four weeks, looking at how to lead a healthy lifestyle together as a family, as well as a 30 minute family physical activity session. Blackpool FC Community Trust are offering each family member that attends all four weeks a free ticket to a Blackpool F.C home match next season as an incentive to encourage families to take part.
