With a focus on skill development, confidence building and creating an inclusive environment, the programme supports players at every stage of their journey while offering clear progression routes within the female game.
Blackpool FC Girls and Ladies
Blackpool FC Girls and Ladies are a leading provider of female football on the Fylde Coast and in the North West. Our Ladies First Team currently play in the North West Women’s Regional Football League, in the 6th tier of women’s football. In addition to this, we have teams from Under 7 to Under 18s, including teams playing in the North West Super League.
We pride ourselves on developing young players to play at all levels in female football, and have an excellent track record in providing pathways within our Club from junior teams all the way through to our prestigious ladies teams. Our professional approach to training, games, coaching standards and welfare enables us to provide a platform for high achievers to transition on to the Blackpool FC FA Girls’ Emerging Talent Centre, and other North West academies.
Girls Elite Coaching Pathway
The 2024/25 season marked the successful launch of Blackpool FC Community Trust’s girls Elite Coaching Pathway programme—a new initiative designed to identify, nurture, and elevate high-ability female footballers in the region.
This invitation-only programme offers selected players a unique opportunity to receive weekly 90-minute coaching sessions, delivered by experienced staff from our FA Girls’ Emerging Talent Centre (ETC). Spanning 30 weeks, the programme aligns closely with the ETC curriculum, providing a consistent, high-quality development environment for aspiring young footballers.

FA Girls’ Emerging Talent Centre
Blackpool FC Community Trust delivers the FA Emerging Talent Centre (ETC), supported by The FA and the Premier League, providing elite coaching and development opportunities for talented female footballers across Blackpool, Fylde and the wider North West.
The ETC acts as a central hub for identifying and developing homegrown talent, working in close partnership with grassroots clubs, schools and local coaches. Players remain fully engaged with their grassroots teams while accessing a high-performance environment designed to support long-term development.
Future Lioness Development Centres
These sessions are open to everyone; however, are most suited to girls who currently play for a football team and are medium-to-high ability players.
Thanks to support from the EFL and the Future Lioness Talent ID Fund, we are able to find ways to highlight talented local players. Sessions offer high-quality coaching which mirrors our FA Girls’ Emerging Talent Centre sessions.
We aim to develop young females who would like to take their game to the next level.
Sessions are delivered by FA & UEFA-qualified coaches and attended regularly by FA Girls’ Emerging Talent Centre and England Talent ID staff
