Blackpool FC Player Quizzed by Local Primary School Pupils

Blackpool FC’s Luke Higham made a special guest appearance for Norbreck Primary Academy Year 4 students, that participated in our Fit2Go programme.

Luke sat down for a ‘Q&A’ and the pupils quizzed the left-back on his training regime, healthy food choices and how he’s fulfilling a dream playing for his local team.

Fit2Go aims to encourage children in Blackpool to live a healthy lifestyle, take part in regular physical activity and to join in with local sports clubs and community programmes which will ultimately improve their overall health and wellbeing.

On his training regime and healthy food choices, Luke said, “All the players at the club eat well. We need the right nutrition to train and keep our energy levels high. We are consistently training, whether it’s on the pitch or in the gym – so it’s important to start the day with a good breakfast and eat the correct food throughout the day as well as staying hydrated.”

On playing for his local football team as a professional player, Luke said, “Having watched Blackpool FC as a child and even going to see them at Wembley, I am very proud to have the opportunity to play for the Seasiders.”
