Blackpool FC Community Trust will defend the National Walking Football Cup tomorrow at Aston Villa’s training complex.
Blackpool FC Community Trust’s Walking Football experienced heartbreak in the 2015 Walking Football Cup losing to Plymouth in the final. But 12 months later, the Seasiders avenged their loss and won the cup to become 2016 National Walking Football Champions.

Now we will go into Saturday’s tournament looking to retain the title. The Seasiders are in fine form having retained the Regional Walking Football Cup in March having won it last year too. Successfully defending the regional title was a fantastic achievement but can we go one better and successfully defend the national title? Make sure you follow Blackpool FC Community Trust’s social media channels for live updates of the National Walking Football Cup.
Inclusion Officer Owen Coyle said, “We are excited ahead of Saturday’s national competition. The team are looking to retain the title after becoming National Champions last year. Blackpool FC Community Trust deliver a wide range of over 50’s provision which Walking Football is vital part of.”
