The ‘Premier League Supports’ campaign gives clubs the opportunity to celebrate the positive impact they have on their local communities.
To mark the Premier League Supports campaign, all Premier League, EFL and National League clubs who receive Premier League Community and Wider Football investment have been invited to nominate ‘One of Our Own’.
After supporting Blackpool FC Community Trust over the last eight years, we have decided to name Dave Marsland ‘One of Our Own’.
Dave continuously goes above and beyond through the work he does with Walking Football, Sporting Memories, Older Adults and Local Veterans. During Covid he continued to engage with our participants virtually by consistently holding weekly live walks and quizzes resulting in over 220,000 engagements on our social media platforms. His passion and commitment have had a positive impact on hundreds of local people across Blackpool.
Since starting with Blackpool FC Community Trust in 2015, Dave has shown exceptional commitment and made a long term contribution to his local community. Thank you.
Today, our CEO, Ashley Hackett surprised Dave by turning up to a Sporting Memories session and presented him with a bespoke print and ‘One of Our Own’ Scarf.
Ashley Hackett said,
Dave has been an instrumental member of our team for so many years, and his commitment to the participants he serves needed highlighting. The amount of positive feedback I receive about Dave and the impact he has on the people he works with is continuous and the Premier Leagues campaign has given us a great opportunity to highlight this.
Dave Marsland said,
Blackpool FC is my football club, I’ve supported them for 60 years. What I like most is helping people. To be able to work in a team and make a difference to the lives of my community is great, I love doing that and it’s down to Ash and the team at Blackpool FC Community Trust who provide me with a platform to do what I love.
