Introduced in 2019 to honour arguably Blackpool’s most famous footballer, Jimmy Armfield, the competition aims to give year 3 and 4 pupils an opportunity to play football and learn about Jimmy Armfield’s outstanding career. The day aims to share awareness of who Jimmy was, as both a player and a person, and celebrate all that he achieved throughout his life.
